Former college president sentenced for embezzlement
Dolores Cross, the former Morris Brown College president who embezzled
government money as she struggled to keep the institution afloat, was sentenced
Wednesday to five years probation and a year of home confinement.

Accountant for lobbying group pleads guilty to embezzlement
A former official with a pharmaceutical industry lobbying organization pleaded
guilty Thursday to embezzling $700,000, federal prosecutors said.

Guilty plea in nurses association embezzlement case
The former chief financial officer of the New York State Nurses Association pleaded
guilty today to stealing $1.2 million from the association and faces 3 1/3 to 10
years in prison when he is sentenced March 22, according to Albany County
District Attorney P. David Soares.

Ponca City woman faces prison for embezzlement
A woman has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than a quarter-million dollars
from a Home National Bank branch in Ponca City.

Embezzlement Is Found in Catholic Dioceses
A survey by researchers at Villanova University has found that 85 percent of
Roman Catholic dioceses that responded had discovered embezzlement of church
money in the last five years, with 11 percent reporting that more than $500,000
had been stolen.
