Ex-Transamerica employee is indicted for fraud
A former Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Co. employee was indicted by a
federal grand jury Wednesday for defrauding the company of $971,000.

Missing money from Weber may top $1 million
Investigators believe more money may have been stolen from the Weber School
District Foundation than previously thought, district spokesman Nate Taggart said
Thursday.

Siemens Subsidiary Pleads Guilty
An American subsidiary of the German industrial giant Siemens AG pleaded guilty
Thursday to obstruction of justice and admitted it misled officials to land a $49
million medical equipment contract.

Fla. Charges 2 Insurance Brokers, 1 Other in Major Workers' Comp Fraud
Three Floridians including two insurance brokers have been charged with fraud
and conspiracy for allegedly providing hundreds of workers with falsified workers'
compensation insurance certificates to more than 300 Florida construction
contractors.

Davis schools demand ethics statements
Months ago, three former Davis School District employees were accused of
embezzling more than $4 million. Now, all district employees will be required to
annually sign an ethics and conflict of interest statement, officials announced
Wednesday.
