TWO SENTENCED IN $1.4 MILLION VIRGIN ISLANDS BRIBERY SCANDAL
A former U.S. Virgin Islands fireman and an Atlanta businessman were sentenced
today in U.S. District Court for the District of the Virgin Islands for their role in an
elaborate bribery and kickback scheme to defraud the U.S. Virgin Islands
government of approximately $1.4 million in federal and local funds.

7 years given in fraud at U.S. Food
The former chief marketing officer of U.S. Foodservice Inc., a subsidiary of
supermarket giant Royal Ahold NV, was sentenced to seven years in prison
yesterday for his role in a widespread securities fraud that cost investors $800

Firm fears $1 million embezzlement
The company identified unauthorized checks in excess of $150,000 going to the
CFO. An examination of records revealed that the losses could be hundreds of
thousands of dollars.  The Bexar County district attorneys' office considers Ex-CFO
Dennis Lynn Weiss a flight risk, as they stated "it has come to our attention that
he's building a house in Mexico and he has a romantic interest who's a Mexican

$145,000 from a private school to pay her divorce attorney and other personal
